A brief enumeration of expected results may be given as follows:
- Long term conservation of the natural environment of the protected area by enhancement of the conservation status of populations of protected species of fauna and flora, and habitat types.
- Restoration of abiotic conditions and habitat structure in Logarou lagoon and Amrakikos Gulf.
- Improvement of the water quality in the marine parts and the lagoons.
- Improvement of the lagoon functional efficiency as a wild bird habitat as well as a productive natural fisheries unit.
- Restoration of the marine water income-outcome, that existed in the Gulf before the port-construction and banking works in the Strait of Preveza.
- Improvement of the movement of fish fry and fish populations along the Strait of Preveza, the only connection of the Gulf to the Ionian Sea.
- Increase of the fish reserves within in the Gulf.
- Avoidance of future mass mortality events among the fish in the lagoons and the aquaculture units in the Gulf.
- Improvement of the revenue of the freelance fishermen and of the Fisheries Cooperatives.
- Improvement of life quality in offshore settlements in Amvrakikos.
- Improvement of the tourism in the offshore settlements of Amvrakikos.
- Improvement of the harbor effectiveness in serving the merchant, tourist and fishing boats.
- Protection of public health through the improvement of the water quality and the quality of local fishing and agricultural products.
- Increase of the esteem for the area’s environmental value by the local population, and motivation for their participation in the management of the area.
- Increase of the number of visitors with special interests.
- Increase of the area’s appeal to the visitors.
